1. Who we are

Pigo.uk (“Pigo”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an on-demand pickup and truck booking platform for customers across the United Kingdom. This Privacy Policy applies to our website at pigo.uk and our iOS and Android applications.

For privacy questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use Pigo, we may collect:

  • Account details — name, email address, phone number, password (stored as a secure hash), and profile photo.
  • Google sign-in data — if you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account ID, name, email, and profile picture.
  • Profile extras — optional details such as place, birthdate, and saved location information.
  • Booking & trip data — pickup and drop-off addresses, map coordinates, service and vehicle choices, prices, notes, and trip status (including cancellations).
  • Location data — approximate or precise location when you allow it, so we can set pickup points, show nearby options, and display routes on the map.
  • Device & usage data — app/platform type, API requests needed to secure your session, and basic technical logs to keep the service reliable.
  • Communications — emails such as verification codes and password-reset messages.

3. How we use your data

We use personal data to:

  • Create and manage your account, verify email, and keep you signed in securely.
  • Process bookings, show maps and routes, estimate arrival times, and support trip history.
  • Communicate with you about your account, bookings, and important service updates.
  • Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and protect the platform (including API seed and session security controls).
  • Comply with applicable UK laws and respond to lawful requests.

We process data where it is necessary to provide the service you request (contract), where we have a legitimate interest in operating a secure UK transport platform, or where you give consent (for example device location permission).

4. Location, maps, and directions

Pigo uses Google Maps Platform services (including Maps SDKs and Directions) so you can see pickup/drop-off points and road routes in the app. Location is used to set your current place as pickup, search destinations, store recent places, and draw routes for your trip.

You can control location access in your device settings. If you deny location permission, some map features may be limited, but you can still enter addresses manually where the app allows it.

Google may process map-related requests under its own terms and privacy policy. See Google Privacy Policy.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Service providers — hosting, email delivery, and Google Maps/Directions needed to run Pigo.
  • Drivers / partners — when a trip is active, relevant pickup and drop-off details needed to complete the job (as the driver product becomes available).
  • Legal & safety — if required by law, regulation, or to protect users, drivers, or Pigo.

Where providers process data on our behalf, we require appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

6. How long we keep data

We keep account and booking records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting requirements. You may ask us to delete your account; we will remove or anonymise personal data where we are not required to keep it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, short-lived access tokens, and daily API seed checks. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorised access.

8. Your rights (UK GDPR)

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Request data portability
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your rights have been infringed.

9. Children

Pigo is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Pigo after an update means you accept the revised policy, where permitted by law.
